Nursing in a Global Society

Abstracts are being accepted for the poster presentation at the March 24, 2012, Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing Alumni Reunion.

 

The theme of this program is global nursing, which includes the endeavors of nurses extending from local to worldwide communities, especially in underserved areas.  In order to showcase a variety of works along this theme, submissions of poster abstracts are encouraged. Posters may be developed for this program or may have been displayed at previous conferences.  Anyone who has had a meaningful health care mission trip is also invited to share their story in poster format.  Program participants may include alumni, graduate students, faculty and other practicing nurses.  Program participants do not have to be an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International.

 

Deadline for submission is February 15, 2012.  Authors will be notified of the review committee’s decision by March 1, 2012.  Confirmation of participation must be received no later than March 15, 2012. 

 

If you would like to submit a poster, please follow these guidelines:

 

  1. Select a topic related to Nursing in a Global Society.
    • The poster may either present research findings, a global health care topic, or describe a particular health care related mission trip.
  2. Submit a 2-3 paragraph abstract that consists of:
    • Title with author(s) and contact information.  Author identification should include name, credentials, mailing address, work phone, and email address.
    • Summary of project or study
    • Limitations / Conclusions
  3. Email 1 copy of the abstract by February 15, 2012 to: Kathryn_Voreis@baylor.edu
  4. Please be sure that poster submissions are no larger than 36” X 48”.
